Rénovation complète d'un appartement dans un immeuble des années 70, au cœur du 11ème arrondissement de Paris.
Structure béton intouchable, réseaux techniques intouchables. La contrainte est fixe - l'usage doit s'y adapter.
De cette contrainte spatiale naissent des inserts ponctuels de menuiserie bois : chacun réarticule une pièce autour d'une porte ou d'une fenêtre mal placée.
Le salon, étroit mais long, reçoit sur son mur principal un seul ensemble continu- bibliothèque, bureau rétractable, banquette d'angle. Le reste de l'espace se dégage entièrement.
Un placard tripartite, plus ou moins ouvert, absorbe un couloir de circulation trop large.
Dans chaque chambre, un dressing sur mesure - intégrant lit, bureau ou coiffeuse - habille un mur choisi pour rétablir la spatialité de la pièce.

From this spatial constraint come punctual insertions of wood joinery: each one rearticulates a room around a poorly placed door or window.
The living room, narrow but long, receives a single continuous ensemble along its main wall — bookshelf, retractable desk, corner sofa. The rest of the space opens up entirely.
A three-part closet, more or less open, absorbs an oversized circulation corridor.
In each bedroom, a custom-built wardrobe — integrating a bed, desk, or vanity — dresses a chosen wall to restore quality spatiality to the room.
